Woodbridge Town made the short journey to Badingham Road for this FA Youth Cup game played in continuous rain in front of a hardy crowd.
The home side were slow to start conceding an early corner however on 3 minutes Ethan Whittingstall took control of a loose ball outside the penalty area before shooting high over the Woodbridge keeper to open the scoring. Play was end to end Abel made a save fromBroom before Charlie Peacher ran on goal and the visitors keeper turned the ball for a corner.On 20 minutes Woodbridge were level Potter getting the better of a home defender before squaring the ball for Shannon to turn and shoot beyond Abel. Five minutes later On 35 minutes good work on the right by Carroll-Chambers allowed him to cross and Brooks was on hand to plant his shot past the keeper. Minutes later Carroll- Chambers got on the score sheet when he took advantage of a slip from Laws coolly slotting the ball under the advancing Woodbridge keeper Robinson to give the home side a two goal advantage.4 minutes into the second half and brilliant free kick from Peacher put the Castlemen 4-1 up however with the home substitutes and Whittingstall injury late in the first half play became a little disjointed and Woodbridge started to come more into the game and Abel brought off three great saves. Towards the end of the game both Peacher and Carroll-Chambers had good chances and the visitors scored their second on 80 minutes, Broom slotting in a penalty before a third from Shannon direct from a free kick on the bye line set up a grandstand finish however Fram held on and earned a place in the next round away to Histon next month.
