With the inclusion of several players with first team experience, Manager Pete Borg’s team had a disastrous start, losing keeper Danny Thomas on 4 minutes to a red card. The keeper lost his footing collecting the ball on the edge of the area and as the ball ran past him the visitors forward collected the ball and Danny took the player down and as a result was sent off and Holland scored the resultant penalty. Charlie Coe took the job of stand in keeper and throughout the game made a number of excellent saves and stops. Max Willett brought a save from the keeper before the same player equalised on 21 minutes. On 27 minutes Holland took the lead when a miscued cross was slid in at the far post and they further increased their lead 5 minutes later from a corner that was not cleared. Holland keeper made two excellent saves however on the stroke of half time Corey Hayward headed in from a corner to reduce the arrears for the ten men of Fram. Holland’s number 9 found space on 54 minutes and shot beyond Coe however Fram were still in the game pushing on and Max Willett scored a third on 74 minutes. The game started to become a little disjointed with Holland dishing out some rough tackling and going unpunished by a below standard referee. On 90 minutes Jack Lawrence was unlucky not to have secured a draw when his free kick hit the underside of the bar and as the game came to an end 10 minutes into added time Jack Lawrence was tackled late from behind only for the referee to play on leaving Jack with a serious injury. Credit to the ten men of Fram who never gave up and kept their discipline against a Holland side that perhaps would not have returned to Essex with the points playing against 11 players.
