Both teams had recorded wins on the first day of the season so in bright sunshine in front of a good size crowd it was apparent from the team sheets that March Town had the more experienced side. It was no surprise the visitors took the lead on 24 minutes after having most of the play, Gibsons corner was headed in by Gillies, although a Fram defender tried to prevent the ball crossing the line the tall number 9 scored. Gibson headed wide from a Burrows cross and on 33 minutes March doubled their lead, the ball was squared across the face of the goal and Friend got the vital touch to score his third goal of the season. A minute later Fram had a golden opportunity to reduce the arrears from the penalty spot however Danny Smith placed his shot wide of the post. March were playing a high line and Smith was caught off side on a number of occasions as the home side were finding life difficult against a strong March side. Ling featured in most of the Frams moves and on 60 minutes Berry headed at the keeper. On 66 minutes Friend scored his second as he collected the ball just inside the Fram half ran forward with the ball and unchallenged he rifled a shot across Vincent and high into the net for an excellent finish. Substitute Ramonds scored a fourth on 92 minutes to round off a comprehensive performance against a Fram side that had no answers against good March side.
