A Jono Fryatt brace and a clean sheet sealed an important three points after a dominant performance from a young Castleman side.
Both teams came into the game looking to end losing runs; despite some improvements Fram had lost their last three and the visitors their last four games. The opening exchanges were cagey but with the impressive Alex Ling, Fram started to dominate, the home player feeding the front three of Willett, Fryatt and Danny Smith.
Cornard squandered the two best chances of the first 20 minutes, Ash Rankin bringing an incredible save from Gary Rose before the same player headed wide from a corner. Fram were then sparked into life creating problems for the Cornard defence.
Both full backs were getting forward and Man of the Match Cion Wren’s ball to Willett saw him through on goal and his thunderous effort was tipped onto the cross bar before another effort hit the post and narrowly avoided the oncoming Fryatt.
The second half saw Cornard earn several corners as set pieces seemed to be the visitor’s biggest threat and Rose, Berry and Thorpe had to be alert with their tackles and clearances.
After weathering the early storm from Cornard, Fram then gained more control and on the hour their persistence was rewarded with some great individual skill from Danny Smith and a spectacular strike saw the ball hit the underside of the bar from 25 yards out, and Jono Fryatt was quickest to react and followed up to open the scoring.
From that point there was only one winner and Fram managed the game without Rose having another shot to save. Fram, through the impressive midfield trio, controlled the ball and the front three were a constant threat.
Fram scored a second on 70 minutes when Ling’s through ball sent Willett racing down the left and his square pass saw Fryatt tuck the ball past the keeper.
An important three points for Fram saw the Castlemen climb two places up the table.
