A win on the road for The Castlemen

Fram welcomed Danny Smith back after his recent injury, Liam included youngsters Sam Bright and Levi Chapman as full backs and Pete Borg took the keeper’s gloves.

On Sudbury’s 4G pitch it was the home side who started to move the ball around but it was the visitors who had a couple of early chances, Chapman’s cross was cleared, Willett’s cross was dropped by the keeper only for the ball to drop behind Ling in the 6 yard box before Danny Smith was put through on goal only for the keeper to save.

On 15 minutes the home side took the lead when Fram lost possession and Ethan Mayhew took the ball forward to shoot across the goal and into the corner of the net.

Sudbury then had a lot of possession both Renwick and the lively Kabaneu creating danger. On 27 minutes Sam Bright was carried off following ankle injury with James Mayhew taking his place.

Ling and Chapman linked well to earn a corner from which Fram equalised when Ant Johnson headed Willett’s corner in. Three excellent attacks from Fram at the start of the second half ended with the home defence clearing before Sudbury’s Mayhew brought an excellent save from Borg.

On 58 minutes Fram took the lead when Ransome, who had been on the pitch 3 minutes, crossed from the right-hand side and as the keeper juggled with the ball, Danny Smith was on hand to bundle the loose ball into the net.

Sudbury became frustrated; their number three Hughes dumping Ransome into the perimeter fence and the same players were involved minutes later, the referee showing a red card to the Sudbury player.

As the home side pushed for an equaliser Ethan Mayhew hit the bar and Borg diverted a low shot for a corner before Berry shot wide from a Ling corner, but as the final whistle went it was Fram who celebrated the three points to take them up the table on 12 points.
