A good-sized crowd at Notcutts Park watched this League Challenge Cup match between neighbours Woodbridge and Framlingham Town, the last meetings of the clubs resulted in two draws.

The home side made a good start with slick passing and movement however it was Fram who created two good opportunities firstly Joe Berry had a shot saved from close range before Danny Smith’s chip drifted past the post.

Churchyard then had a shot cleared off the line from a corner and Trotter was unable to convert an excellent cross from Keeble. Ransome brought a flying save from Stronge, Willett shot wide and new signing Wren was making a good impression on the left narrowly chipping wide of the post with the keeper to beat.

Fram shaded the first half without scoring with some good movement and pace and went into the break at 0-0.

The second half was three minutes old when the home side opened the scoring; Keeble’s low cross was converted by Churchyard from close range.

This gave the home side some impetus and Trotter scored his first of the evening when Bowman’s hard shot was spilt by the keeper and the number nine tapped in from two yards out.

Danny Smith pulled a goal back on 65 minutes from the penalty spot when sub Knights was pushed in the area.

The home side scored a third on 71 minutes Bowman able to pick his spot from 12 yards out before Trotter completed his hat trick on 79 and 94 minutes to give the home side a comprehensive win and progress to the next round.
