The Castlemen progress in the League Challenge Cup

The Castlemen scored three goals to follow up their victory by the same margin on Saturday, but this time against the team who have lost only once in the league and are sitting in second place in Division One North.

With another changed team manager Liam brought in Gary Rose for his first game of the season and Ant Johnson returned at number five.

Fram started well with Max Willett providing early crosses, however it was Diss who then settled, Halil had two shots in quick succession well saved by Rose and Shade headed over the bar following a long throw from Fuller.

On 26 minutes, Fram took the lead when Dan Smith's shot was blocked by keeper Macrae only for the number seven to win the ball back from a defender to cross for Jono Fryatt to gleefully score from close range.

On 38 minutes, Fuller was off target faced with an open goal as Lane was creating several chances for his team.

On 47 minutes, Ransome's curling shot was narrowly wide before Hooton ran at the Fram defence only for Johnson to tackle the Diss player. Diss then had a good shout for a penalty as Halil was sent tumbling, but play continued.

Willett then had a shot well saved following Fryatt’s excellent low cross, Johnson then headed over the bar from a Ransome free kick before Lucraft’s shot was tipped past the post by Rose.

On 77 minutes Fram were awarded a penalty when keeper Macrae tripped Whittingstall. Max Willet duly dispatched the spot kick.

Fram rounded an excellent display with a third goal on 91 minutes when sub Callum Knights picked his spot from 6 yards out following good work from Bell.

With two cup wins, Fram must now take this form into Saturday's league game against March Town.
