FRAMLINGHAM TOWN: 1, WHITTON UNITED: 1 SATURDAY 11th AUGUST 2008 KO 3pm.

The home side scored on 75 minutes with the visitors equalising five minutes later so a replay at Whitton on Tuesday will need to have a winner to play Basildon United in the next round. Whitton had the lion’s share of the first half without creating too many chances, Clarke finding space on numerous occasions down the right. On 5 minutes Willett shot over the bar from a free kick before Kerridge put a shot wide and Willett was unable to turn the ball in from a Danny Smith cross. On 23 minutes Pelling shot wide from outside the area as Whitton pushed forward and Chilvers had to make a smart save when Newman played in Liam Wales behind the Fram defence, the keeper turning the ball for a corner. Cole volleyed over the bar following a poor Fram clearance before Thorpe headed a Willett free kick onto the top of the net just before half time. Fram had more possession in the second half and started brightly Willett’s shot was collected by Higgins before Kerridge’s snap shot went well over the bar. On 51 minutes a collision between Whitton’s keeper Higgins and Dunnage saw the number five for the visitors play no further part in the game. Hitter shot wide and as the game swung from end to end Charlie Smiths low cross was touched goal wards by Kerridge but keeper Higgins saved. On 75 minutes the deadlock was broken when Danny Smith found Willet whose shot was deflected by Mallardo to wrong-foot Higgins and end up in the net. Whitton pushed on and a poor clearance from Fram saw Ingram stretch to head over Chilvers to equalize therefore forcing a replay.
